After the disappointing launch of Redfall in May, Xbox Game Pass has taken a few quieter months to recover from the significant loss. However, things are now looking up as they offer a thrilling selection of games for July 2023, including some major hits.
There are currently nine games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in July 2023. Among the notable releases this month are Capcom's dinosaur co-op shooter, Exoprimal, which will be available on the service from day one. Subscribers can also enjoy Arcade Paradise, an addictive business sim that is already accessible. However, the standout addition for Xbox Game Pass in July 2023 is Grand Theft Auto 5, a game that is expected to pave the way for the rest of the series on Xbox Game Pass.
GTA 5 Should Usher In a Storm of GTA on Xbox Game Pass
Grand Theft Auto 5 has made a surprising addition to Xbox Game Pass. The game has been a part of the service before, appearing in January 2020 and April 2021, but leaving after a few months each time. Now, it has returned to the delight of subscribers. Having GTA 5 on Xbox Game Pass is a great attraction, especially during the dry months between major game releases.
However, this should just be the start. The 2021 GTA Definitive Trilogy received mixed reviews but allowed fans to experience the classic games on modern consoles. It would be wonderful to have these games on Xbox Game Pass, or even see one of them make a comeback.
The Xbox Game Pass welcomed the definitive version of GTA: San Andreas when the Definitive Trilogy was released. This allowed players to enjoy a third of the entire experience for free. Around the same time, the definitive version of GTA 3 became available on PS Now. However, San Andreas was later removed in May 2022. Since then, there haven't been any GTA games on Xbox Game Pass, but it's about time they changed that. Xbox Game Pass should include the entire GTA Definitive Trilogy, providing all three games on the service for the first time.
In addition to the Definitive Trilogy, Xbox Game Pass should also introduce Grand Theft Auto 4 to the service. Despite being highly praised, GTA 4 tends to be overshadowed by GTA 5, and there are numerous Xbox Game Pass subscribers who haven't had the chance to play it yet. Considering that GTA 4 is already accessible via backwards compatibility, it would be logical to include it on Xbox Game Pass alongside the other GTA titles available on Xbox platforms. Since there are currently no Grand Theft Auto games available on PlayStation Plus, this is the perfect opportunity for Xbox Game Pass to gather them all in one easily accessible place.
