For Apple enthusiasts, here's a list of all the devices that will be compatible with the upcoming upgrades.

For those planning to update to iOS 17, ensure that you have an iPhone XS, iPhone XR, or a second-generation iPhone SE. Any iPhone models released after these models will also be compatible with the update. Additionally, new iPhones announced at Apple's annual iPhone event will come with iOS 17 pre-installed. You can easily determine which iPhone model you have by going to Settings > General > About and checking the "Model" field. Another way to verify your device is by accessing your Apple ID account section on your device (under Settings > [Your Name]) or using Find My on iCloud.com.

The latest iOS 17 update will no longer provide support for the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. These models were launched in 2017 and will remain on iOS 16 for the remainder of their lifespan, which is five years of support. However, older devices will still receive some security updates, albeit limited.

The upcoming iPadOS 17 update will only be compatible with certain iPad models, including the second-generation iPad Pro, third-generation iPad Air, sixth-generation iPad, or fifth-generation iPad mini. The year 2023 promises exciting upgrades for iOS and iPadOS, and the best part is that they won't cost you a dime if your device is compatible. Anticipate the release of iOS 17 in September, coinciding with Apple's customary iPhone event. However, iPadOS may be slightly delayed as Apple postponed iPadOS 16 to address some glitches. Consequently, tablet users had to wait until late October for the update to roll out.
