The official website and X (formerly Twitter) handle of Kingdom season 5 released the main trailer on Thursday, December 28, showcasing the upcoming battle at Koku You Hill. In addition to the trailer, two new cast members were revealed by the staff. The highly anticipated series is scheduled to premiere on January 6, 2024.
Adapted from Yasuhisa Hara's popular seinen manga series, Kingdom Season 5 will depict the events as told and illustrated in the original manga. Notably, the manga has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2006 and currently consists of 70 tankobon volumes.
Kingdom season 5 reveals the main trailer and announces additional cast
Earlier, the official team for Kingdom season 5 released the main trailer for the anime on December 28, building excitement for its upcoming premiere. The highly anticipated sequel will debut on January 6, 2024, airing new episodes weekly on the NHK General channel in Japan.
For fans outside of Japan, all episodes will be available for streaming on the Crunchyroll platform, along with other titles from the Winter 2024 lineup, including Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!, Solo Leveling, Metallic Gouge, and more.
Notably, the latest promotional video starts with the protagonist, Ri Shin, getting ready to confront his enemies in the battle at Koku You Hill. The short clip builds excitement for Kingdom season 5 with its outstanding portrayal of the war.

In addition to Ri Shin, the trailer showcases key characters for the upcoming season such as Kan Ki, Sei Ei, Karyo Ten, and more. The short clip also gives a sneak peek of the anime's opening theme song, Shirubebi, sung by DeNeel. Furthermore, the anime team has shared information about the new cast members, adding to the excitement for Kingdom season 5.
According to the official announcement, Kenta Miyake, widely recognized as All Might from My Hero Academia, will be voicing Ba Tei, the character described in the manga as a general of the Zhao Military and the right-hand man of Ki Sui.

In addition to him, Yoshihisa Kawahara, well-known for his portrayal of Katsumi Orochi in the Baki series, takes on the role of Ryuu Tou. Like Ba Tei, Ryuu Tou is one of the Zhao Military generals and serves as Ki Sui's right-hand man.
The official website for the Kingdom anime has released statements from the cast members expressing their excitement and feeling honored to be part of the anime's voice cast.
Notably, the anime is being directed by Kenichi Imaizumi and produced by Studio Signpost and Pierrot, with series composer Noboru Takagi. Character designs are by Hisashi Abe, and the series' music is being composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto.

DeNeel opens with the theme song Shirubebi, while Novel Core ends with RULERS. Kingdom season 5 welcomes back Jun Fukuyama as Ei Se, Masakazu Morita as Ri Shin, and other returning cast members. The new season will cover the Koku You Hill Campaign arc from Yasuhisa Hara's manga, featuring the battle between the Qin Army and the Zhao Army. Season 5 will also reveal a different side of commander Kan Ki.
