PlayStation Plus members subscribed to the Premium tier can now indulge in a trial of one of the most highly anticipated games of 2023, Hogwarts Legacy. The Premium tier of PS Plus offers a plethora of perks, including access to select PS1, PS2, and PSP titles. Additionally, Premium users can enjoy full game trials for a variety of titles, allowing them to experience the game for a predetermined number of hours - ranging from one to five hours depending on the game. With the recent addition of Hogwarts Legacy to the trial catalog, Premium tier members can now explore the magical world of Harry Potter and unleash their inner wizard.

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers are granted a 45-minute trial of Hogwarts Legacy. While this should be sufficient to experience the introductory portion of the game, some players may struggle to make it to Hogwarts Castle within this time frame. It's important to note that the timer begins as soon as the game is launched, and players must close the application from the PS5 home menu to halt the countdown.

The trial period for Hogwarts Legacy may not provide players with enough time to fully explore the open world and engage with all of its mechanics and systems. Despite offering a taste of the gameplay, many fans may find the trial's duration to be too brief, especially since other PS Plus Premium trials typically offer two to three hours of gameplay. Nevertheless, the trial can serve as a useful tool for undecided gamers to experience Hogwarts Legacy firsthand. The game has garnered positive reviews since its launch in February 2023, with its PS5 version currently holding an 84 score on Metacritic. Although it may not have the highest score on the platform, it is expected to be a contender for various awards at the end of the year.

With over 15 million copies sold and generating more than $1 billion in revenue since its release, it's clear that Hogwarts Legacy has been a commercial success. It remains to be seen whether the PS5 trial will lead to increased sales, but it's possible that users who participate in the trial may be inclined to purchase the game once it ends. Hogwarts Legacy is available on multiple platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and will be available on the Nintendo Switch from November 14.
