A new leak for Genshin Impact has provided additional details about Charlotte's abilities on the battlefield. This character was introduced in version 3.7 as the sole playable Dendro sword user.
Many players consider the current version of Genshin Impact, as well as the upcoming 3.8 update, to be filler content designed to generate excitement for the next major region, Fontaine. The release of a new major region is the highlight of the Genshin Impact world, as it brings a plethora of fresh content such as new areas to explore, playable characters, events, and more. A recent teaser video also suggests that Fontaine will introduce an exciting new underwater mechanic for players to explore.
In the ongoing Genshin Impact update 3.7, a new character hailing from Fontaine has been unveiled. This character, named Charlotte, is a lively journalist who writes for the newspaper Steambird. Players will first encounter her in Mondstadt, where she reveals that she has been sent by her newspaper to cover the King of Invokation Grand Prix TCG tournament, the main event of the update. The Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has recently provided additional details about Charlotte's abilities on the field and her role within certain team compositions. According to the leaked information, Charlotte will have a four-star rarity, making her slightly less powerful than the recently introduced Dendro user, Baizhu. The leak suggests that, like Baizhu, Charlotte will likely be a support character in the game, but it does not specify whether she will provide healing or shielding abilities.
Speculation about the mysterious character's affiliation with the Anemo element has been debunked as her in-game model clearly shows her wielding the Cryo Vision. Although the exact release date remains unknown, players can anticipate her arrival within the first few updates of the Fontaine region.
Recent rumors suggest that Genshin Impact's highly anticipated 4.0 update will introduce a trio of fresh faces. This seems plausible since the previous two major updates also featured three new characters. Among the speculated additions are Lyney and Lynette, who have been the subject of rumors since their appearance in one of Genshin Impact's initial story teasers back in 2020.
Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and a Switch port is also in development.
