Game-Changing Update: PUBG 251 Revolutionizes Weapon Arsenal!

Krafton removes a controversial weapon from the latest PUBG: Battlegrounds update, addressing player concerns and enhancing gameplay

Highlights

In response to strong criticism from fans regarding the reliance on a luck-based damage calculation system, developers Krafton and PUBG Corporation have made the decision to remove the Dragunov rifle from PUBG: Battlegrounds.

The developers have acknowledged the feedback and temporarily removed the weapon from live servers for reevaluation. They are requesting players to fill out a feedback form to assist in enhancing the rifle for its future implementation.

In addition to addressing the rifle problem, the recent update has also brought forth a refreshed map, the inclusion of sandstorms, and a collaboration with Aston Martin.

Following a negative response from fans, Developers Krafton and PUBG Corporation have decided to remove the most recent weapon in PUBG: Battlegrounds. The latest update, which was made available to gamers on August 2, included numerous changes to the popular battle royale multiplayer game, such as modifications to various maps and gameplay modes.

As part of these changes, a new weapon called the Dragunov rifle was introduced to PUBG: Battlegrounds. This powerful weapon, which uses 7.62mm ammunition and offers the same firepower as a sniper rifle, relies on a random number system to determine the amount of damage it inflicts. However, fans expressed concerns about the reliance on luck rather than skill for kills using this rifle.

In response to fans' concerns about the Dragunov rifle, Krafton has addressed the feedback on the official PUBG: Battlegrounds website. As a temporary solution, the team has removed the weapon from the live PUBG servers while conducting a thorough evaluation. To ensure player engagement with the game, developers have requested players to complete a feedback form to optimize the rifle for its eventual reintroduction into the game.

In addition to the Dragunov issues, the latest update for PUBG: Battlegrounds includes a revamped map and various gameplay changes, such as the introduction of sandstorms. This new element replaces the existing Red Zone on the Miramar map, presenting players with challenges like reduced visibility and progressively decreasing health.

The 25.1 update for PUBG: Battlegrounds introduces a collaboration with luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin, allowing players to drive a luxurious supercar around the revamped map. This is just one of many collaborations that PUBG has had with various franchises and products. Recently, Capcom partnered with Krafton to bring Street Fighter 6 skins to PUBG: Battlegrounds, offering costumes inspired by Ryu, Chun-li, and Cammy.

While it is unclear when the Dragunov will return to PUBG: Battlegrounds, it is encouraging that the developers are actively seeking input from the community. In addition to maintaining a large player base, Krafton is funding the development of a game to compete with Escape From Tarkov. Known as Project BlackBudget, this PvPvE extraction shooter is set in a vast open world. Although specific details about a release date are still unknown, it appears that Krafton is committed to providing players with diverse gaming experiences.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
