Fulham have agreed a deal to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolves for £5.5m.
The 32-year-old striker will have his medical on Monday.
Jimenez, who is currently under contract with Wolves for another year, has been a part of the club for five seasons. Initially, he joined on loan from Benfica in 2018 and then made his move permanent the next year.
During his early years with the club, the Mexico international showcased his talent by scoring an impressive 44 goals. Unfortunately, his progress was abruptly halted when he suffered a fractured skull during an away match against Arsenal in November 2020.
He has scored just 15 since then and is set to leave the club with 57 in 166 appearances.
Jimenez arrival to allow for Mitrovic departure?
Al Hilal's interest in striker Aleksandr Mitrovic has caused a rift between Fulham and their leading goalscorer of the previous season, who reluctantly joined their pre-season trip to the USA. Mitrovic has informed his family that he refuses to continue playing for Fulham following the imposition of a hefty £52m asking price.
Mitrovic, who had contemplated not participating in the club tour of America, ultimately decided to join the squad as they departed for the United States on Thursday, thanks to the persuasion of his agent, Pini Zahavi, and PFA representatives.
Nevertheless, Mitrovic is reportedly frustrated and displeased with the fact that he was unable to secure a transfer due to the excessive demands made by Al Hilal, despite two unsuccessful bids being made for him.
Mitrovic's agent has requested Tony Khan to reduce his valuation to a range of £35m to £45m. Al Hilal, who are currently negotiating deals for Riyad Mahrez and Allan Saint-Maximin to join Roberto Firmino, are eagerly awaiting a prompt response regarding Mitrovic, as they are situated at a training camp in Austria.
Silva turns down £40m Al Ahli offer
Marco Silva has turned down an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli and insisted he retains "total commitment" to Fulham.
Silva confirmed during his press conference that he had informed his current employers of his decision, but he chose not to reveal that he had rejected Al Ahli. The Portuguese had been offered £40m for a two-year deal to become the club's new manager.
"I responded on behalf of my club, and I have no intention of discussing this situation," he stated. "Speaking about offers and the current circumstances is not why I am here.
"As I mentioned earlier and would like to reiterate, I do not feel the need for extensive explanations. My dedication to this football club has been unwavering. I am fully committed to its success."
