Fulham are close to finalising deals for defensive duo Mohammed Salisu and Calvin Bassey.

A deal for Southampton defender Salisu is close with the fee thought to be worth more than £15m.

Monaco has also shown interest in the player, but their two bids for him, who will be a free agent next summer, have been turned down. Meanwhile, Fulham is in the process of finalizing a deal with Ajax for defender Bassey and it is believed that £18m will be sufficient to secure his signature.

Bassey is expected to have medical and finalise personal terms in the coming days.

Uncertainty regarding Silva & Mitrovic

Aleksandar Mitrovic is eager to depart from Fulham and move to Saudi Arabia.

Al Hilal's interest in the striker has caused a rift between Fulham and their leading scorer of the previous season. Despite his reluctance, Mitrovic reluctantly joined the team for their pre-season trip to the USA.

Al Ahly, currently in a training camp in Austria, are actively pursuing Riyad Mahrez and Allan Saint-Maximin to join forces with Roberto Firmino. They are eagerly awaiting a prompt response.

Meanwhile, Marco Silva's representatives are in London engaging in discussions with Saudi officials, presenting an offer facilitated by the sovereign wealth fund. The Portuguese coach possesses a release clause worth £6m, which Al Ahly stands prepared to fulfill.

Fulham offered Silva a new contract earlier this summer. However, with one year left on his current deal, he is hesitant to accept the offer. Silva rejected a £35m offer from Al Hilal earlier in the summer.

The Premier League club is facing additional challenges as Mitrovic has informed his relatives that he refuses to play for Fulham again due to the decision-makers imposing a hefty £52m price tag on the striker. Despite contemplating staying away from the club's tour of America, Mitrovic was persuaded by agent Pini Zahavi and PFA representatives to accompany the squad as they embark on their journey to the United States on Thursday.

Mitrovic is frustrated as he cannot afford to make the move due to the high asking price, after Al Hilal failed to secure him with two unsuccessful offers.

In an effort to facilitate the transfer, Mitrovic's agent has insisted that Tony Khan reconsider the valuation and decrease it to a range of £35m to £45m.

Silva faces a predicament while on tour due to an unsettled striker in his team, raising concerns about Mitrovic's willingness to participate in the Premier League season opener against Everton on August 12. When approached, Fulham declined to comment.

Mitrovic, the Serbian international, netted 14 goals during the previous season, aiding Fulham in securing a place in the top half of the Premier League. Furthermore, his goals were instrumental in propelling the west London club to ascend from the Championship to the top flight twice.
