Fans Left Underwhelmed as Venom 3 Logo Revealed

Fans left underwhelmed by Venom 3 logo reveal at CES 2024, expressing disappointment for a single apparent oversight

The unveiling of the first logo for Venom 3 at CES 2024 has left fans bitterly disappointed for a simple reason. This year, Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock, powered by symbiote, will make his final appearance in the Venom movie series. Written by Kelly Marcel, little is known about the plot or his adversary, with some speculating it will be the Lobo Cartel, while others hope for the return of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man.

Both movies received negative reviews, with the first one scoring 30% and Let There Be Carnage at 57%, but they still managed to be successful at the box office and were popular among general moviegoers. Looking ahead to 2024, despite the uncertainty for superhero movies, Venom 3 has the potential to stand out in an otherwise underwhelming lineup. However, its logo has already been met with criticism.

Venom 3 logo disappoints fans: “You had one job”

As part of Sony’s 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, several logos were unveiled for upcoming movies, including Bad Boys 4, the new Karate Kid movie, and Venom 3.

The latter threequel came with a somewhat uninspired design – mainly because it’s not called “V3nom.”

"V3NOM was right there," one user commented. Another user wrote, "V3NOM would have been so much cooler." A third user expressed frustration, tweeting, "STUDIOS ARE SO STUPID, THEY HAD A CHANCE TO DO V3NOM AND THEY GIVE US THIS. UNREAL. I will be seated though."

"Don't just stand there like Jeff Bezos if you missed the chance to name it V3nom – cheesy but really cool," one person commented. "I wish it was V3NOM, so stupid and funny just like the character," another added. "Is it really just called Venom 3? Couldn't they at least do V3nom?" a different user tweeted.

This could potentially be an early promotional logo just for CES, so V3nom fans shouldn't lose hope! Considering the first follow-up had the "Let There Be Carnage" subtitle, we're expecting the name to have a bit more flair when it is released in cinemas.

In a previous interview with Digital Spy, Hardy mentioned the importance of each installment in a series being unique and able to stand alone, while also maintaining continuity if there are sequels. He emphasized the need for each film to be treated as if it could be the last one and not to assume that future films will follow the same story or formula. Hardy also acknowledged that the success of each individual film heavily influences the possibility of future installments.

Venom 3 hits cinemas on November 8, 2024. Find out more about the movie here.

Editor's P/S

As a die-hard fan of the Venom franchise, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of disappointment when the logo for Venom 3 was revealed at CES 2024. While I understand the significance of Tom Hardy's final appearance as Eddie Brock and the potential for an exciting plot and adversary, the unimaginative logo left me wanting more. The missed opportunity to name it "V3nom" was particularly frustrating, as it would have added a touch of creativity and humor that aligns perfectly with the character.

Despite the negative reviews for the previous Venom movies, their success at the box office and popularity among general audiences cannot be denied. Venom 3 has the potential to stand out in the upcoming lineup of superhero movies, but the lackluster logo has certainly dampened some of the excitement. However, I remain hopeful that this is just an early promotional logo and that the official title will have more flair when the movie hits cinemas in November 2024.
