Many celebrity couples choose to further strengthen their bond by adopting a new pet, and this holds true for stars like Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2018, have expanded their family with the addition of three rescue dogs.
Chopra Jonas, who had Diana prior to her marriage, presented Jonas with Gino as a gift in November 2019 to celebrate their first anniversary. Exactly one year later, they welcomed Panda, a mixed breed of Husky and Australian Shepherd, into their family through adoption.
On the other hand, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar opted to adopt a pair of Akita dogs in December 2020.
“Puppies are more challenging [than kids],” Prinze Jr. revealed exclusively to We. “With kids, you can think ahead and say, ‘Okay, when they grow up, if I treat them nicely, they will take care of me.’ But with dogs, you know that as they age, it's your responsibility to take care of them even more.”
Prinze Jr. and Gellar, who tied the knot in September 2002, surprised their daughter Charlotte and son Rocky, born in 2009 and 2012 respectively, with the adorable canines. “We celebrated Christmas a little early,” Prinze Jr. shared with Us. “We got the kids a trampoline because we had the space. And as the ultimate gift, we got them puppies.”

"Puppies pose more challenges compared to kids," Prinze Jr. exclusively shared with We. "With kids, you might think, 'Okay, if I treat them well, they'll take care of me when they're older.' But with dogs, it's like, 'Wow, when they grow up, I'll have to take even better care of them.'"

"Introducing Mark and my newest addition, Rose," the Queer Eye personality announced alongside an Instagram photo in July 2022, featuring the two of them with their canine companion. "Since rehoming our beloved Pablo earlier this year, my heart has felt a sense of longing. Pablo's temperament and my frequent travels, coupled with being constantly surrounded by people, left him feeling miserable."
The hairstylist went on to share their gratitude: "Thankfully, we have wonderful friends who have taken Pablo in, and he is now thriving and incredibly happy. I reached out to @safeinaustinrescue and asked Jamie if there were any puppies in need of a loving home. To my delight, she said yes! It's important to remember that Safe in Austin is not an adoption shelter, but rather a therapeutic haven for animals and a place of healing for people."
