Fallout 76 Unveils Epic New Setting

Players of the Fallout series have been taken on an adventure throughout the post-apocalyptic wasteland of the United States, exploring areas such as New Vegas and the Capital Wasteland. Now, with the upcoming update, Fallout 76 players will be able to venture to a brand new location northeast of Vault 76: Atlantic City. Since the game's initial release in 2018, players have thoroughly explored West Virginia's Appalachian region, but were only able to venture outside of this area with The Pitt expansion in 2022. Bethesda aims to satisfy players seeking a New Vegas-style locale with their next major update, providing a new location for players to explore and relax in. Despite initial mixed reviews from critics and players due to technical issues and lack of engaging content, Bethesda's dedication to Fallout 76 has resulted in an improved experience through various updates, expansions such as Wastelanders and Steel Dawn, and the recent addition of Expeditions: The Pitt, which takes players to post-apocalyptic Pittsburgh to battle raiders and the Pittsburg Union.

In a thrilling revelation during the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, Fallout 76 players were treated to the news that they would soon have the chance to explore the bustling streets of Atlantic City. This exciting addition to the game's roster of locations was announced as part of Bethesda's celebration of five years of its MMO-RPG, alongside other reveals such as Elder Scrolls Online and Starfield. The trailer provided a sneak peek of what players can expect to encounter in this new setting, including the risk of losing their hard-earned caps at the gaming tables and uncovering the hidden dangers lurking beneath the city's streets.

This marks the first new location to be added to the Fallout series in half a decade, and also represents the first time players will be able to explore the New York tri-state area in franchise history.
