Critical Role has removed all videos on its official YouTube channel that featured Brian Wayne Foster. In an attempt to wipe out any trace of the problematic individual from Critical Role's past, hundreds of videos containing days' worth of content are now unavailable.
Earlier this year, Ashley Johnson, renowned for her role in The Last of Us, ended her relationship and engagement with Foster, citing a history of verbal abuse, controlling behavior, and dependency on substances. These negative actions escalated after the separation, prompting Johnson to obtain a restraining order against Foster in May.

In a show of support for their friend and fellow actor, Critical Role has taken the step to remove all traces of Foster from its public history on YouTube. Foster, who previously served as the host of Critical Role, appeared on various shows such as Talks Machina, one-shot campaigns, side campaigns, and spin-off shows. However, the only remaining footage of Foster on the Critical Role YouTube channel is a brief appearance at the beginning of a few live shows that he hosted during the Mighty Nein campaign.
It should be noted that Foster is not the first problematic actor that Critical Role has had to address. In earlier episodes, Orion Acaba was a member of Vox Machina. Due to disagreements and personal reasons, the decision was made to remove Acaba from the show, resulting in the complete eradication of his character from The Legend of Vox Machina show and other accounts of the campaign's early history. Nevertheless, the original episodes featuring Acaba are still accessible on the Geek and Sundry YouTube channel and are linked to the official Critical Role website.
Most fans consider this situation to be highly unfortunate. Despite the circumstances, Foster's involvement in various projects was both captivating and worthwhile. Undeadwood and Honey Heist were widely regarded as some of Critical Role's finest spin-offs, while the interviews from Between the Sheets uncovered genuinely personal and heartwarming aspects of the cast. Additionally, Talks Machina provided fans of Campaign 2 with valuable behind-the-scenes insights and entertainment. The loss of access to all of this content is a significant blow for loyal Critical Role supporters.
Nevertheless, almost every fan supports Critical Role's decision. Despite the difficulty of letting go of such a substantial amount of content, most agree that severing ties with Foster and standing by Johnson is of greater importance. While fan transcripts of some of the removed Critical Role content still exist for now, it wouldn't be surprising if these too are eventually discarded.
