They first connected when they met at a casual gathering in September 2023 after the premiere of the HBO series, Winning Time. In the show, O'Connor plays the role of Dyan Cannon, as the story delves into the lives of the Los Angeles Lakers during the 1980s.

Their unexpected encounter happened almost two months after the separation of True Blood actor and Sofía Vergara. Manganiello filed for divorce from Vergara on July 19, 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split, according to court documents obtained by We. Vergara later revealed to Spanish newspaper El País in January 2024 that they disagreed on expanding their family, with her expressing that she did not want to become an older mother. (Vergara is a mother to son Manolo, born in 1991 from her previous marriage to Joe Gonzalez).

"We have decided to part ways and get a divorce," the former couple shared in a statement on Instagram. They expressed their love and respect for each other, and requested privacy as they move forward in their separate lives.

Manganiello and Vergara officially ended their marriage in February. Shortly after, sources revealed that the Deal or No Deal Island host, O'Connor, and Vergara's romance is progressing smoothly.

In December 2023, Manganiello and O’Connor attended the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) gala together. It was their first official red carpet appearance as a couple, and the event took place at New York’s Cipriani 25 Broadway restaurant.

The actors were then spotted at the New York Jets vs. Houston Texans game days after making their red carpet debut.
