Exclusive Sneak Peek! Unmissable New Scenes Revealed in John Wick 4 Extended Cut!

John Wick 4 Extended Cut confirmed, promises thrilling additions Director hints at exciting new scenes and intriguing introduction of a fresh character

John Wick: Chapter 4 director Chad Stahelski has announced that a director's cut of the film is on its way, featuring additional scenes. The highly-anticipated fourth installment of the franchise stars Keanu Reeves reprising his role as the skilled assassin John Wick, who this time finds himself up against a formidable new adversary portrayed by Bill Skarsgård as Marquis. While the latest sequel already boasts a franchise-record runtime of two hours and 49 minutes, Stahelski has revealed that the original version of the film was actually closer to four hours in length.

During a recent interview with ComicBookMovie.com, Stahelski disclosed that the work on his director's cut for John Wick: Chapter 4 is almost finished. Although the extended version won't reach the previously mentioned four-hour mark, it will include various additions, including the introduction of a new character that didn't make it into the theatrical release. Read Stahelski's complete statement below.

"I have been working on the Director's Cut and the extended cut, both of which are nearly complete. We have added an additional 10 to 15 minutes of content, including scenes that were originally cut. One of these scenes features a character called The Frau, which is a comedic moment with John. There is also another scene between John and Tracker, as well as a few small action sequences that have been reinstated.

Of course, during the editing process, we often have to remove certain elements that don't fit with the pacing of the film. However, I believe all the content we added is of high quality. The choreography is impressive, and the characters are well-developed. Ultimately, the decision to remove certain scenes was based on maintaining the overall pace of the film. I wanted to ensure that the two hour and 38-minute runtime didn't feel slow. Fortunately, the final cut still feels driven and purposeful. Sometimes, sacrifices have to be made in order to achieve the desired pace."
