Battlefield 2042 introduces an exciting limited time mode, set to captivate fans during Season 5's thrilling Arkangel Directive event Get ready for intense gameplay and exclusive features that will take your Battlefield experience to new heights

Battlefield 2042 is introducing a new limited time event called Arkangel Directive, along with a fresh game mode called Control. Despite its underwhelming launch in 2021, the game has made efforts to improve itself over the past few seasons, including reworking its launch maps and listening to player feedback. The introduction of the Hourglass rework is highly anticipated. With a dedicated player community and the return of the beloved class system, Battlefield 2042 has addressed its core design issues. Now, the focus is on delivering ample content through events and limited time modes.

The Arkangel Directive's new game mode, Control, will be available in Battlefield 2042 from July 11 to July 25. This mode, with a 24v24 player format, will take place across three maps: Orbital, Reclaimed, and Valparaiso. The objective is to fight for control of various satellites positioned throughout the map. Players who perform well will earn Ascension Points, which can be used to deploy vehicles that can greatly impact success in the smaller game mode.

During the two-week event, players will have the opportunity to earn rewards. In the first week, players can earn a background, a weapon charm, and an Epic weapon skin. In the second week, different rewards, including a background, a weapon skin, and an Epic headgear called "Interneural," will be available. This headgear is considered the highlight of the event. Additionally, three new cosmetic bundles will be added to Battlefield 2042's in-game store for players to purchase during the Arkangel Directive event.

The future of the franchise beyond Battlefield 2042 remains uncertain as EA is working on multiple projects. However, DICE is dedicated to supporting its current playerbase by introducing revamped maps, fresh modes, and time-limited events for players to relish. Fans will be pleased to know that the sixth season of Battlefield 2042 has already been announced, ensuring that more exciting content will be arriving in the near future for this futuristic squad-based shooter.

Battlefield 2042 can be played on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
