Braxton Berrios has refuted rumors of infidelity with his former partner Sophia Culpo, asserting that he wishes for any controversy to cease and for everyone involved to move forward and find happiness. The 27-year-old NFL star addressed these claims in an open and honest Instagram Story video on Tuesday, June 27. Berrios explained that their two-year relationship was generally positive and healthy, but they ultimately decided to part ways in January after realizing they were not compatible.
Berrios continued: “It had nothing to do with anything else. It had nothing to do with anybody else, for that matter. And we just didn’t work out, and that’s OK.”
Miami Dolphins athlete Braxton Berrios, who recently made headlines, refrained from disclosing the identity of his former girlfriend on Tuesday. However, it is worth noting that Berrios and 26-year-old Culpo were in a relationship for two years before finally revealing their romance to the public in early 2021. In March, the star of "The Culpo Sisters" confirmed that they had decided to go their separate ways.
"I will be relocating to a new apartment soon. However, I still need to return to New Jersey to collect all of my belongings. I have been somewhat hesitant about this task because it reminds me of the difficulty of moving out after a long-term relationship where we lived together," expressed the model in a YouTube video.
After a few hours, she further mentioned on TikTok, while spending time at a spa with her older sister Aurora Culpo, that she was currently unattached. "The two single sisters. She's available! Come and get her!!!!!!!" Sophia captioned her video, along with the inclusion of the hashtag "Single Life."
In an Instagram Story in April, Sophia accused Berrios of breaking her trust by revealing that he had started dating influencer Alix Earle even before their relationship had officially ended, which she discovered through an online news article.
Braxton Berrios and Sophia Culpo, as seen on Sophia Culpo's Instagram, have forged a closer bond with each other. Recently, the 22-year-old TikTok sensation has shared numerous videos featuring a certain individual, leading many eager fans to believe it could be Berrios.
Both the professional athlete and Earle have remained silent regarding the dating rumors, but Sophia appears to have expressed her opinion earlier this month. In a now-deleted TikTok video, she captioned, "When the new partner realizes," indicating her familiarity with the situation. "Wait for it, and contact me when the excessive affection ends. I've got your back #girlsupportinggirls."
In the June video, it appeared that Sophia believed Berrios was trying to manipulate Earle into a romantic relationship, known as "love-bombing." This belief arose after Earle shared a video of a mystery man pouring her a glass of wine on a plane. Later on, Sophia clarified through her Instagram Story that her post did not intend to stir up such a commotion. She expressed, "I apologize for the internet's overreaction. It was not that serious. I'm receiving messages from my friends asking if I'm alright. I'm fine. The internet is unpredictable, but we're alright."
Berrios expressed his thoughts on Tuesday, stating that he finds it "strange and distressing" to witness the drama caused by his breakup. "I have chosen to remain silent as it is not typical of me to discuss my personal life in public. However, I believe it is necessary to address it now," he concluded.
