Invincible season 3 will feature more well-known actors from The Walking Dead, expanding the cast of the show even further.
Numerous former cast members of The Walking Dead have already made appearances in Invincible, demonstrating showrunner Robert Kirkman's close association with the actors.
There are ongoing speculations regarding potential additions to the Invincible cast from The Walking Dead, such as Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Norman Reedus, Michael Rooker, and Danai Gurira.
Invincible season 2 is currently in development, and showrunner Robert Kirkman has hinted that well-known actors from his previous graphic novel adaptation, The Walking Dead, may make appearances in season 3. While Kirkman did not provide specific names, he mentioned the possibility of featuring multiple alumni from The Walking Dead. Additionally, he revealed that the cast for season 3 will further expand.
At New York Comic Con 2023 (via Screen Rant), Kirkman unveiled the news while discussing the progress of Invincible season 3. "We are currently putting the finishing touches on the last few aspects of season 2. Season 3 is well underway... When I mention the actors we have for season 2, it's truly remarkable. The cast for season 3 is even more extensive," Kirkman stated. "If you thought the cast expanded for season 2, just wait until you hear about the individuals joining the show in season 3. This should give you an idea of how ambitious we are. We have so many exciting plans... It's possible that some former Walking Dead cast members may make appearances in Invincible at some point."
Multiple former cast members of The Walking Dead have already lent their voices to the show Invincible. Steven Yeun, known for his role as Glenn Rhee, voices the main character Invincible/Mark Grayson. Other former cast members who have appeared in the show include Lauren Cohan (War Woman), Lennie James (Darkwing), Ross Marquand (The Immortal and others), Michael Cudlitz (Red Rush), Sonequa Martin-Green (Green Ghost), Khary Payton (Black Samson), and Chad L. Coleman (Martian Man). Although not all of them are widely recognized Hollywood names, they are actors whom Kirkman is familiar with.
Now the question arises as to who else from The Walking Dead might make an appearance in Invincible. While the former cast members who voiced the original Guardians of the Globe were not the central characters on The Walking Dead, there may be a possibility of bigger names joining the show, such as Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) or Jon Bernthal (Shane Walsh), who has already had experience in superhero media portraying The Punisher. Alternatively, they might consider Norman Reedus, who portrayed the beloved character Daryl Dixon throughout The Walking Dead's entire run. Another option could be Michael Rooker, who played both Merle Dixon and Yondu, or Danai Gurira, known for her roles as Michonne and Okoye, both of whom have experience in the superhero genre as well.
Several former cast members of The Walking Dead have also ventured into the world of alternative superhero entertainment. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, for instance, is set to portray a character in Season 4 of The Boys. Another fellow alum, Laurie Holden, already played Crimson Countess in Season 3 of The Boys, showcasing their expertise in playing superheroes. The question now remains as to who will be cast in Invincible and how they will seamlessly embody their respective roles. Mark your calendars for November 3, 2023, as that's when the highly anticipated Season 2 of Invincible will make its debut.
