Sucker Punch Productions, the developer behind Ghost of Tsushima, has posted a job listing for their next open-world game, suggesting that they may be working on another title in addition to their acclaimed releases like the Infamous series, Ghost of Tsushima, and Sly Cooper. Despite the disappointment of fans during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase where a Ghost of Tsushima sequel was not announced, recent actions by Sucker Punch hint at the possibility of a new installment in the Ghost of Tsushima series currently being in development.
Sucker Punch is currently seeking Quality Assurance contractors to assist with their upcoming open-world game. Based on the job posting on June 29, Sucker Punch is specifically interested in hiring entry level to junior QAs who possess experience working with bug databases and have a keen eye for detail to ensure the smoothest possible launch of their next game, free from any bugs. Prospective candidates will be expected to work on-site in Bellevue, Washington and utilize tools such as JIRA, Visual Studio, and PS4/PS5 Devkits. In addition to outlining the responsibilities, requirements, and qualifications, the job posting also provides information on the working hours and pay range.
The current job listing does not disclose the specific title the studio is working on, but a previous listing from Sucker Punch hinted at the possibility of another Ghost of Tsushima game. The new title may have a focus on stealth, as indicated by the requirements for an Encounter Designer experienced in open-world game encounters, gameplay loops, enemy composition, and particularly melee combat and stealth. Additional preference was given to candidates who enjoy collaborating with ninjas and other disciplines.
Although an official announcement for another Ghost of Tsushima game is still pending, even after three years since its initial release, there is a dedicated fanbase that continues to enjoy and appreciate the game. The stunning graphics and historical setting of feudal Japan make Ghost of Tsushima highly desirable for players, leading to significant anticipation for a potential sequel.
Ghost of Tsushima is available to play on PS4 and PS5.
