Insomniac has confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will include over 65 alternate costumes. Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are known for wearing multiple spider-suits in their appearances in comics, TV shows, and movies. The previous two Marvel's Spider-Man games also had a variety of suits for players to unlock and use. Some of these suits grant special abilities to Peter and Miles, aiding them in defeating enemies and navigating the expansive open-world version of New York City created by Insomniac.

The announcement of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in 2021 led fans to speculate about which classic Spidey costumes would be included. Some popular suggestions included Andrew Garfield's suit from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Tom Holland's more comic-accurate outfit from the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The iconic black Symbiote costume will have a significant role in Spider-Man 2's story. Insomniac also confirmed that a collection of bonus costumes will be exclusive to deluxe editions of the game during Summer Games Fest in June.

Insomniac confirmed during September 14's State of Play livestream that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will offer more than just a glimpse of what's to come. With over 65 unlockable suits, players can expect a plethora of options, including outfits from the comics, movies, and unique designs by Insomniac themselves. And that's not all - the game's new Suit Style system allows for various color variations for each suit, resulting in an impressive 200 possible options overall.

But it's not just about the suits. Insomniac's Senior Creative Director, Bryan Inthiar, shared that the open world of Spider-Man 2 has evolved significantly. The map has doubled in size compared to its predecessors, introducing Queens and Brooklyn as new locations to explore. These areas are teeming with exciting secrets, landmarks, and side activities, offering players a chance to uncover all that they have to offer. Additionally, players can anticipate encounters with new villains exclusive to the Insomniac Spider-Man universe.

In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Peter and Miles can explore the expansive open-world city without worrying about their appearance. The game offers more than 65 alternate outfits, including Peter's Symbiote outfit from the Spider-Man 3 film in 2007, and a Puerto Rican-themed ensemble for Miles, among many others. Players can also customize these costumes further using the new Suit Style system. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be available exclusively for PS5 on October 20.
