It's that time of year again, and Dave the Diver is getting into the spooky spirit by releasing a free DLC inspired by the Lovecraftian game Dredge. This update, coming to PC and Nintendo Switch on December 15, will introduce a new night map, Aberrant fish, and other exciting additions to the beloved adventure RPG.
The announcement of the Dredge content pack for Dave the Diver was made at The Game Awards on December 7. Both games center around fishing, leading to this collaboration, although for the time being, only Dave the Diver will feature the crossover content.
The Dredge DLC is initiated by a foggy weather event in Dave the Diver. This introduces new boat mechanics for Dave, as well as Aberrant fish to hunt and a night map. Additionally, hooded figures will start appearing at the restaurant, seeking meals made from the newly added sea creatures.
The scuba-and-sushi game made a big impact during the summer months. Dave the Diver experienced a significant increase in player count in July, with Circana video game analyst Mat Piscatella joking that everyone would eventually be checking out the game. Originally exclusive to PC, Dave the Diver was released on Switch on October 26.
Meanwhile, check out Our Website's Dredge review for more about that maritime adventure game. It's out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
