Arsenal have contacted Chelsea about the possibility of signing forward Kai Havertz.
There has been no formal offer but Arsenal are working on a proposal.
Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Kai Havertz's contract situation as they navigate the summer transfer window. With only two years remaining on his current deal, Chelsea understand that this is the best time to secure a top transfer fee for the talented midfielder if he chooses not to sign an extension. Havertz was brought in from Bayer Leverkusen last year for a fee of £75m and has since established himself as an important member of the Chelsea squad.
Since last summer, the club has spent almost £600m on players and now needs to recover some of those funds. Despite showing glimpses of his form from his time at Leverkusen, the 23-year-old has struggled to maintain consistency since joining the London team.

Havertz has produced just 19 goals in 91 appearances
He scored the winner in the Champions League final in 2021 and in the Club World Cup final last term.
In 91 appearances, he has only managed to score 19 goals. With Chelsea having other pressing priorities in the transfer market, both in terms of players leaving and arriving, it remains to be seen whether they will actively seek a replacement for him. However, the possibility of signing a new number two may arise if a substantial offer is made for Edouard Mendy and he expresses a desire to leave.
Who else have Arsenal been linked with?
West Ham skipper Declan Rice marked potentially his final match for his current club by leading them to Europa Conference League glory.
Reports suggest that Arsenal, who are rivals of London, are nearing a deal to acquire a 24-year-old England midfielder. It is anticipated that the club will pay a record-breaking fee of over £100m. Meanwhile, Brighton, who are set to compete in the Europa League, have already sold Alexis Mac Allister, a World Cup winner, to Liverpool and may potentially lose another key player in midfielder Moises Caicedo.
