The latest trailer for the game showcases numerous exciting features, including a larger overworld, the Gold Saucer, and even Cloud riding a segway.

Following the release of this trailer, Square Enix provided confirmation that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth would remain a PlayStation 5 exclusive for a shorter duration than anticipated. The publisher revealed that the game would remain exclusive until May 29, 2024, lasting approximately three months. Although the initial release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake was exclusive to the PlayStation 4, it was eventually made available on the PlayStation 5 and PC several years after its launch on the previous generation console. Despite the opportunity presented by this timeframe, trustworthy leaker NateDrake reports that there are no current plans to expand the remake to other platforms.

This claim was shared on the famiboards forums during a discussion about potential games for the successor of the Nintendo Switch. Some of the rumored games mentioned were the Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth, a possible seventh installment of Far Cry, and a new Monster Hunter title. Nate, on the other hand, clarified that Square Enix currently has no intentions of bringing it to the Switch 2. He also mentioned that the likelihood of a release on the platform is as low as an Xbox release. According to Nate, if Square Enix decides to make it happen, it will.

Nate acknowledges the possibility that it could happen, but based on the information he has heard, Square Enix is not currently prioritizing it. In early September, Nate debunked claims made by fellow leaker I'm a Hero Too about the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy coming to the Switch and Xbox. Another leaker named Necrolipe also confirmed that Hero's information was incorrect, supporting Nate's statements that neither the Remake nor Rebirth would be available on Switch or Xbox.

While these leakers have a history of reliability, it's important to approach this information with caution until Square Enix or the relevant publisher issues an official statement. As of now, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, set for release in 2024, will be exclusive to the PS5 until the end of May. There is no news yet about a port to other systems like PC, Switch, or Xbox. However, based on these claims, fans can still hope for a PC port.
