Sui Hutami's Dungeon People tells the story of Clay, a young girl who is trained by her father to become a skilled member of the thieves' guild. When her father goes missing, Clay embarks on a journey to find him in a mysterious dungeon. It is there that she meets Belle, the caretaker of the dungeon. Clay decides to join Belle's staff and begins to uncover the secrets and inner workings of the dungeon.

The anime has also revealed the voice cast members for Clay and Belle. Sayaka Senbongi will be voicing Clay, known for her roles as Shuna in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Kikuri Hiroi in Bocchi the Rock!, and Kiruko in Heavenly Delusion. She will also voice Konomi Okonogi in an upcoming project.

Sayumi Suzushiro will lend her voice to Belle, having previously voiced Nijika Ijichi in Bocchi the Rock!, Kei Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and Kurena Kukumila in 86 Eighty-Six.

The Dungeon People anime is set to be directed by Sayaka Yamai at OLM. Some of Yamai's previous works include Fantasy Bishōjo Juniku Ojisan to, ODDTAXI, and Osomatsu-san. Toshimitsu Takeuchi will supervise the series' scripts, having worked on Haikyuu!! and Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold.

Joining the team is Hiromi Nakayama, who will be responsible for designing the characters. Nakayama has previously showcased their talent in the ODDTAXI television anime and movie as a character designer.
