Sheffield Wednesday has named Xisco Munoz, the former Watford boss, as their new manager. The 42-year-old Spaniard takes over from Darren Moore, who unexpectedly left the Owls after successfully leading the team to earn promotion to the Championship through the League One playoffs.
Munoz successfully guided Watford back into the Premier League in the middle of the 2020-21 season. However, he was fired in November 2021 after overseeing only 36 games as the manager. Prior to his managerial career, Munoz achieved accolades as a winger, winning the LaLiga title and the UEFA Cup with Valencia. He later transitioned into management, starting with Georgian club Dinamo Tbilisi, before eventually joining Watford in December 2020.
