Marvel typically produces series projects with six episodes, although special projects like 'WandaVision' and 'Loki' were intentionally designed as two-part series. Despite the overwhelming praise from critics and fans, the future of Moon Knight remains uncertain as Marvel closely guards their plans until they are officially confirmed.

Moon Knight director, Mohamed Diab, recently addressed speculation about a second season and provided an unfortunate update concerning the character's future endeavors within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moon Knight revolves around the complex personas of Marc Spector and Steven Grant, both embodiments of his dissociative identity disorder. Their intertwining journey delves into a captivating mystery infused with the influence of ancient Egyptian deities. Despite persistent rumors surrounding a potential second season, Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm, and Diab's recent remarks have cast further uncertainty.

In an interview with Arabic Marvel (via The Cosmic Circus), Diab disclosed that Marvel Studios initially guaranteed only six episodes for the show. Diab clarified that Tom Hiddleston's Loki series was the only MCU show created with a second season in mind. Diab stated, "Marvel had predetermined it right from the start. Marvel’s series projects typically consist of six episodes, with the exception of special projects like 'WandaVision.' Six episodes is the standard format. 'Loki' is the sole series they announced would be divided into two parts from the very beginning." The esteemed director-turned-producer also mentioned that Marvel Studios always has a plan for their projects, regardless of their success. "Marvel’s approach is unconventional, as they don't simply renew a project for a second season based on its success. They have a predetermined plan in place, irrespective of whether it is successful or not."
