Microsoft's Game Pass subscription service is introducing two new games on July 11: Common'hood and Insurgency: Sandstorm. Common'hood is available on Cloud, Console, and PC versions of Game Pass, while Insurgency: Sandstorm is only available on PC Game Pass.
These additions come after a brief break in new releases for Game Pass. The last game to be added was on July 6, which is not uncommon, but all games released this month have big shoes to fill. On July 5, Xbox Game Pass brought back Grand Theft Auto 5, and despite its original release in 2013, it continues to dominate the charts. Game Pass has also introduced Arcade Paradise, Sword and Fairy: Together Forever, and McPixel 3 since the beginning of June.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is a team-based first-person shooter (FPS), but it doesn't reward reckless play. It places a strong emphasis on strategic gameplay, incorporating both close-quarters combat and objective-focused missions. Overall, it provides a viable alternative to Call of Duty, although it differs in many aspects. On OpenCritic, Insurgency: Sandstorm has received a Solid rating with an average score of 79 from top critics, and 60% of reviewers recommend this intense shooter experience.

Insurgency: Sandstorm (PC)
Meanwhile, Common'hood lacks extensive reviews but has accumulated approximately 232 mixed reviews on Steam. It is characterized as a community-building economic management game with base building elements. Players engage in various traditional survival activities, including constructing homes, gathering resources, and cultivating crops. Given the popularity of survival-style simulation games on Xbox Game Pass, it has the potential to establish a dedicated player base and community on Microsoft's service.
If neither of these games fulfills the desired entertainment, subscribers can look forward to more options on the horizon. Capcom's multiplayer dinosaur game, Exoprimal, will be available on July 14, followed by Technotica and The Cave on July 18. Microsoft is constantly adding new titles to Game Pass, further solidifying its reputation as the most consumer-friendly service in the industry. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can anticipate receiving a selection of games each month.
