The new key visual for The Banished Former Hero anime showcases the main characters of the series, whose castings were already confirmed in previous announcements. Aside from the missing international streaming information, the only production detail remaining to be revealed is the ending theme song.
The Banished Former Hero anime, titled The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases, is an adaptation of a light novel series by Shin Kozuki and illustrator Chocoan. Originally a web novel by Kozuki on Shosetsuka ni Naro, the series concluded in June 2019.

The Banished Former Hero anime has announced its official Japanese premiere date on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 2AM JST. The show will kick off on TV Tokyo before also being shown on AT-X later that same day. Viewers can catch it on BS TV Tokyo on April 3. In Japan, the series will be available for streaming on U-NEXT and Anime Hodai, along with other platforms.
The anime Banished Former Hero features Shota Aoi as Allen, Minami Kurisaka as Riese, Akari Kito as Anriette, Sora Amamiya as Noel, Aimi as Mylene, Megumi Han as Beatrice, Mariya Ise as Akira, Takehito Koyasu as Craig, Ryota Ohsaka as Brett, and Koki Koyasu as Curtis. The romanizations of their names are not yet confirmed at the time of writing.

Kazuomi Koga is currently directing the anime series at Studio DEEN and Marvy Jack studios. Rintarou Ikeda is responsible for the series scripts, while Yoshiki Okusa is in charge of writing them. Saori Hosoda is the designer for the characters, and Kei Haneoka is composing the music. Aoi is the performer of the opening theme song for the series titled “Evolve.”
J-Novel Club holds the licensing rights for both the light novels and their manga adaptation, allowing for their distribution. They describe the series as follows:
