Electronic Arts has launched a massive PC games sale on Steam called Steam Scream: The Revenge, offering discounts on a wide range of games.
The sale offers a selection of eerie titles and Halloween-themed expansions, alongside other unrelated games like Need for Speed and Star Wars Battlefront. Standout discounts include a 40% markdown on the Dead Space remake, up to a 30% reduction on The Sims 4 expansions, and a hefty 80% off on Plants vs. Zombies games.
As part of the ongoing Steam Scream: The Revenge event, Electronic Arts has kicked off a huge sale on PC games. This sale is expected to be one of the last major sales before the implementation of Steam's new payment policy, which will impact how certain consumers purchase games on the platform.
Last year, Valve introduced the original Steam Scream sale ahead of Halloween, aiming to showcase games that embrace the spooky spirit of the month. This included generous discounts on a variety of horror-themed and other unsettling titles.
The event's second iteration began today and will run until November 2, with EA as one of the main supporters of the newly launched sale. Highlighting the company's selection of promotional offers is a significant 40% discount on the highly acclaimed Dead Space remake, now priced at $35.99. The second and third installments in the trilogy are both available at a discounted price of 80%, costing only $3.99 each during the promotion. Other thrilling products included in EA's Steam Scream: The Revenge offerings are Alice: Madness Returns and Lost in Random, available at discounts of 85% and 90% respectively.
All Halloween-themed expansions for The Sims 4 are included in the new sale, including Paranormal, Vampires, and Werewolves content packs. The discounts for these DLC range up to 30% off, depending on the specific expansion. Additionally, EA has reduced the prices of all Plants vs. Zombies games on Steam by 80%, as the spooky theme of the undead aligns well with Halloween.
Furthermore, although Steam Scream: The Revenge primarily focuses on games that relate to Allhallows Eve, EA has also included several unrelated titles in this sale. For instance, a significant portion of the Need for Speed franchise is now discounted by up to 90%, along with both Star Wars Battlefront games, which are currently available at a discounted price of 75% off, or $14.98 when purchased together.
The newest game in the recently discounted lineup is not related to Halloween. That distinction goes to Immortals of Aveum, which is now temporarily available at a 40% discount. It's worth mentioning that Immortals of Aveum received mixed reviews when it was released in late August. If RPG enthusiasts are seeking less action-packed gameplay, they might consider the Dragon Age franchise, with discounts ranging from 70% to 75%. Other notable deals in EA's recently launched sale include an 85% discount on the Mirror's Edge series, and 75% off Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Sea of Solitude, Spore, and the Burnout Paradise remaster.
