EA and Ascendant Studios have announced that the highly anticipated magic-based first-person shooter, Immortals of Aveum, will now be released on August 22 instead of its original July 20 release date. This minor delay of approximately one month will allow the Immortals of Aveum team to further enhance and refine the game before its official launch.

Immortals of Aveum, developed by start-up studio Ascendant Studios in collaboration with the EA Original Label, offers players an exhilarating new IP where they assume the role of Jak, a formidable battlemage with the ability to wield three different types of magic. Set in a world consumed by the Everwar, a conflict centered around the control of magic, Immortals of Aveum promises an immersive gaming experience. Game Rant recently had the opportunity to preview the game, and they believe it holds the potential to be a surprise contender for Game of the Year.

Ascendant Studios has acknowledged the importance of ensuring a flawlessly polished video game launch, emphasizing that there can never be "too much" attention to detail. In order to optimize the gaming experience, the studio plans to utilize the additional time to enhance the game's PC functionality and ensure a seamless launch. In a blog post addressing the delay, Bret Robbins, the director of Immortals of Aveum, expressed gratitude towards fans for their support and provided insights into the challenges faced during the development process. These challenges include navigating the complexities imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, building a new team, and leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5.1 to push the game to its limits.
