A new gameplay trailer for Immortals of Aveum, the upcoming fantasy shooter, was recently shared by Ascendant and Electronic Arts. The trailer showcases some stunning set pieces that are sure to captivate gamers. The debut of this footage took place at the opening showcase of Summer Game Fest 2023, which featured several other highly anticipated game announcements, including the release date for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Developed by industry veterans who have worked on popular series such as BioShock, Halo, and Call of Duty, the California-based Ascendant Studios announced Immortals of Aveum in December 2022 as a magic-based FPS. The game is a single-player experience that promises to provide a cinematic campaign.

Previously released footage of Immortals of Aveum did not fully deliver on the promise of a cinematic experience, unlike the SGF 2023 trailer. This three-minute clip showcases action-packed gameplay sections set on and around a 400-foot Colossal, a destructive and heavily regulated ancient war machinery that is a crucial part of the game's lore. Immortals of Aveum's star-studded cast, led by Darren Barnet as Jak, a mage who seeks to save the planet of Aveum from destruction, is showcased in the trailer as Jak unleashes a range of abilities to take down enemy troops.

Immortals of Aveum has been described by developers as a blend of popular games like Doom, BioShock, Call of Duty, and God of War. However, the newly released trailer also showcases similarities to the Dishonored series. Set in a fantasy world, this single-player action RPG offers a first-person shooter experience with a diverse skill tree that caters to various playing styles. With an estimated 25-hour campaign playthrough, Immortals of Aveum is a great value for money, putting it on par with other lengthy AAA story-driven games like The Last of Us Part 2 and Hogwarts Legacy.

Immortals of Aveum launches July 20 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
