Techland plans to continue supporting Dying Light 2 with new content despite a decline in daily active players.

The trailer for the content roadmap unveils future updates for the game, including the introduction of fresh enemy varieties, expanded weapon categories, enhanced character customization choices, and improvements to overall gameplay experience. However, specific release dates for these changes remain undisclosed.

Techland has revealed its ambitious plans for ongoing support for Dying Light 2: Stay Human. The popular post-apocalyptic action RPG received an update, followed by bug fixes and changes to the in-game store based on player feedback. Despite its initial success, the game now has fewer daily active players compared to its predecessor on Steam.

Techland remains committed to supporting Dying Light 2 for an extended period, as mentioned in a September content roadmap trailer. The trailer highlights various significant updates, such as new missions, additional board requests, and the introduction of a Nightmare difficulty mode. Additionally, players will have the option to replay any of the game's 12 GRE Anomalies and experience a new Tower Raid mode.

Moreover, the trailer unveils the upcoming appearance of Tolga and Fatin, the brothers from the original 2015 game, in Dying Light 2. The Xbox Series X/S version of the game will also feature the ability to adjust the camera's field of view. In addition, the developer has plans to include other graphic settings that will govern elements like bloom and motion effects.

In addition to that, the promotional material also revealed that Dying Light 2 will be receiving various enhancements. These include the introduction of new enemy types, an increased variety of executions and finishers, as well as the addition of more weapon categories such as knives and polearms. The development team is also working on improving the game's weapon and mod crafting system, providing more options for character customization, and implementing a text chat feature. Additionally, Nightrunner Tools will be integrated into Dying Light 2's New Game Plus mode, addressing a common concern among fans.

Techland's trailer did not provide a specific timeline for these updates. However, based on the Dying Light 2 roadmap, it appears that the first wave of these enhancements is on the horizon. Halloween and Winter events are also scheduled, with the Halloween event likely to be released by the end of October to align with its theme.

Dying Light 2 is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. A Switch cloud version is also in development.
