The budding romance between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has sparked a wave of love-seeking individuals, including Drew Barrymore. In a teaser for an upcoming episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the 48-year-old actress expressed how this particular person inspired individuals to express themselves in a joyful and positive manner. Barrymore, who has been single for the past seven years, had a significant realization when she witnessed Swift on a first date with Kelce and his family in a public setting.

Barrymore has openly discussed her challenges in reentering the dating scene after her breakup with Will Kopelman, the father of her two daughters, in April 2016. However, it wasn't until recently when footage emerged of Taylor Swift attending a Kansas City Chiefs game with Kelce that Barrymore had a personal revelation.

Observing Swift's casual approach to dating triggered a shift in Barrymore's mindset. He recounted a failed attempt at gifting her a custom-made friendship bracelet with his phone number during her Eras Tour concert in Missouri. However, they managed to strike up a connection and subsequently went on a few intimate outings. Swift even made her inaugural appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game, and she has since attended several more NFL matches. On October 14, Kelce and Swift were spotted hand in hand during a romantic night out in New York City.

The excursions later motivated Barrymore to elevate her on-and-off relationship to a higher level.

"I met this person who I have been occasionally seeing for the past three years on Raya. Surprisingly, I asked him to accompany me to a wedding next weekend," Barrymore humorously mentioned to guest Gwyneth Paltrow on an upcoming episode airing next Monday. "Seeing how Taylor Swift is dating like an ordinary person without any hidden agenda, it made me realize that I tend to overthink everything. So, I decided to go on a date. What's the harm in that?"

Barrymore has been married three times in the past. After divorcing Jeremy Thomas and Tom Green, she married Kopelman in 2012. However, they announced their separation in 2016. As a single parent after the divorce, she found it challenging to navigate the dating scene while being a mom.

During an episode of her talk show in January 2022, the Never Been Kissed star expressed her uncertainty about dating with kids. She admitted that she wasn't ready to start dating yet because she has two young daughters and is hesitant to introduce potential partners to them. She believed it would take a significant amount of time for her to get to know someone and feel comfortable bringing them into her daughters' lives.
