Drake’s boy, Adonis, proved that he is indeed his father’s son.

Just days after the release of Drake's latest album, For All The Dogs, which featured his 6-year-old son making his rapping debut with a few lines on the track "Daylight," Adonis surprised fans by dropping the full version of his verse in "My Man Freestyle" on Sunday, October 15.

Accompanied by a music video, the song showcases Adonis, the son of Drake and Sophie Brussaux, on the basketball court with his friends. Adonis displays his talents beyond rap; he delivers a motivational speech, conducts a post-game press conference alongside his father, and even works out in the gym to stay in shape.

During that gym scene – approximately at 02:30 in the video – Adonis proudly displays his fresh ink. The youthful lad exhibits what seems to be a (temporary?) tattoo portraying his father's visage on his left forearm, serving as a heartfelt homage to Drake (and perhaps a subtle tribute to his grandfather Dennis Graham).

The young boy emulates his father's laid-back flow on the track, showcasing his rap skills. "I've been eagerly awaiting this moment," he confidently delivers on the second verse. "I was cruising in my car when it got wrecked / I was engrossed in my iPad when it shattered / Now I'm heading home to see my dad / Greeting him warmly before I rush off to change." Adonis's style may not be as verbose as Aesop Rock, Kendrick Lamar, or MF Doom, but this kid possesses undeniable charm.

Adonis also refers to Malcolm Gladwell's concept of mastering a craft, commonly known as the "10,000 hours" rule. "Ten thousand days and I gain expertise / Ten thousand weekends and you understand," he raps.

In 2017, Dennis Graham decided to permanently ink his son's face on his arm. However, in August 2022, Drake ridiculed his 69-year-old father for this choice. Drake expressed his confusion and wrote, "I was pondering why you would do this to me, we're family," in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. To emphasize his point, the "First Person Shooter" rapper shared a close-up image of the debatable tattoo. However, Dennis jokingly responded, "I love you... Hahaha, I had sixteen people attempt to fix this [tattoo]. They are causing me pain."

Dennis chose to get a tattoo that matches his son. In 2014, the rapper known as "God's Plan" went to Mark Mahoney's Shamrock Social Club and had his father's mugshot tattooed on his arm. It seems that getting fatherly tattoos is a long-standing tradition in the Graham family.

On October 6, Drake's album "For All The Dogs" debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 402,000 equivalent album units (including 391,000 streaming equivalent albums.) This marks Drake's 13th album to reach No. 1, surpassing Taylor Swift and tying with Jay-Z (14) and The Beatles (19) for the most No. 1 albums on the chart.
