Donkey Kong Country Announced as a New Attraction at Universal Studios Japan in Spring 2024

Upon its opening in 2021 at Universal Studios Japan, Super Nintendo World showcased a large door hinting at a Donkey Kong-themed expansion to the park. Now, Nintendo and Universal have confirmed that Donkey Kong Country will indeed be a part of Super Nintendo World in Japan, set to debut in the spring of next year.

The announcement was made during a Universal Kick-Off event in Japan, which featured a brief CGI teaser trailer for the upcoming Donkey Kong park. The highlight of the expansion appears to be a mine-cart-themed roller coaster, with glimpses of DK's house and a building featuring Funky Kong's name on a sign.

The opening of this new section at Super Nintendo World in Japan is the first expansion since the theme park's debut in early 2021. Visitors can experience exciting attractions such as a thrilling Mario Kart ride through Bowser's Castle, a leisurely ride through the park known as Yoshi's Adventure, and opportunities to meet beloved characters such as Mario, Luigi, Peach, and more.

At the conclusion of a prosperous year for both Nintendo and Universal, the Super Mario Bros. Movie made waves by setting numerous box office records for a family-oriented film. Japan is just one of several locations for Nintendo-themed amusement parks, with the recent opening of Super Nintendo World in California and plans to open more parks in Florida and Singapore by 2025.

Donkey Kong Country is coming to Universal Studios Japan in Spring 2024, and I couldn't be more excited! I've been a fan of the Donkey Kong series since I was a kid, and I've always dreamed of experiencing the world of Donkey Kong in real life. Now, that dream is finally coming true.

The Donkey Kong Country expansion at Universal Studios Japan will feature a mine-cart-themed roller coaster, DK's house, and a building featuring Funky Kong's name on a sign. I can't wait to ride the roller coaster and explore the world of Donkey Kong. I'm also excited to meet some of my favorite Donkey Kong characters, such as Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Dixie Kong.

I think the Donkey Kong Country expansion will be a great addition to Universal Studios Japan. It will give fans of the series a chance to experience the world of Donkey Kong in a whole new way. I'm already planning my trip to Universal Studios Japan to experience the Donkey Kong Country expansion for myself.
