Like Insomniac's previous Spider-Man games, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has unveiled a handful of intriguing Easter eggs scattered throughout New York City! Within the past couple of weeks, players have stumbled upon these hidden gems, sparking speculation about what the upcoming DLC might entail. Especially captivating is one particular Easter egg that alludes to a sinister organization closely linked to Daredevil, the beloved superheroic attorney and the protector known for his remarkable fearless nature.
Situated in the Upper West Side district of the city, there is a building where players can venture inside to discover a concealed room. Although access to the room is restricted, players can explore the other side of the building and catch a glimpse inside. Surprisingly, this bookstore-like establishment conceals an astonishing array of firearms, swords, and enigmatic symbols awaiting discovery within its premises.
Now where could that secret room be? This has sparked a discussion regarding the symbols' possible connection to The Hand, a secretive ninja cult closely associated with Daredevil. The Hand is known for their forbidden arcane magics that enable them to bring back the deceased and manipulate their wills to serve their organization. Alternatively, an intriguing similarity is observed between one of the symbols and the pattern found on the Sanctum Sanctorum of Dr. Strange, a character referenced in the initial Spider-Man game.
Furthermore, it is confirmed that magic exists in Insomniac's Spider-Man universe and plays a significant role in one of the stages of Spider-Man 2. In fact, there is a more direct Easter egg relating to Dr. Strange towards the end of that level. Interestingly, it has been speculated that Matt Murdock, Daredevil's alter ego, may have left his Hell's Kitchen law firm, as the office plaque appears conspicuously empty.
In order to sue J Jonah Jameson for libel, obtaining a lawyer is essential. However, after this week's patch, things have changed:
Voila! It's possible that the issue lies with the texture not loading correctly, but the patch has resolved this problem, indicating that there hasn't been any significant alteration in Insomniac's Marvel universe. Nevertheless, if all indications do point towards The Hand and Daredevil appearing in the Spider-Man 2 DLC, fans are in for a treat. With their shared dedication to fighting crime at the street level, Daredevil and Spider-Man make an exceptional duo. We've already witnessed the promising potential of this collaboration through Yuri Watanabe, or now known as Wraith, who can frequently be found dispensing her brand of vigilante justice with an array of unique weapons in the game.
The Hand can serve as suitable adversaries to Kraven's Hunters, making them excellent punching bags. In the Spider-Man game of 2018, the world was expanded with the City That Never Sleeps DLC, which consisted of a trilogy of episodes that introduced Black Cat, Silver Sable, and Hammerhead. Therefore, the possibility of Daredevil and Spider-Man crossing paths is not unlikely, as they have done so in the '80s and '90s Spider-Man animated series. This suggests that a video game crossover could be plausible. Moreover, considering the confirmation that Insomniac's Wolverine game takes place in the same universe as the Spider-Man games, it seems that Earth-1048 will soon witness the arrival of more familiar Marvel characters, further crowding the scene.

As an enthusiastic fan, I am thrilled by the possibility of Daredevil DLC in Spider-Man 2. The secret room discovered in the Upper West Side, filled with firearms, swords, and enigmatic symbols, strongly suggests a connection to The Hand, a ninja cult closely associated with Daredevil. The Hand's involvement would add a darker, more mystical element to the game, which would be a refreshing change from the usual street-level crime-fighting.
Furthermore, the potential for Daredevil and Spider-Man to team up is incredibly exciting. Both characters are known for their shared dedication to fighting crime, and their unique skills and abilities would complement each other perfectly. Daredevil's heightened senses and martial arts prowess would make him a formidable ally for Spider-Man, and his experience as a lawyer would be invaluable in helping Peter Parker navigate the legal system. I can't wait to see how Insomniac would bring these two iconic superheroes together in a video game.
