The main focus for Season 2 should be fixing the endgame to give players more options for leveling up and obtaining loot. Additionally, there are other areas of the game that require improvement. It is possible that a sixth class will be revealed in the upcoming expansions, and based on how weapons and cosmetics work in the game, players can already make predictions about which class it will be.

In Diablo 4, five classes have been introduced from previous games in the series. Each class wields iconic weapon types that can be shared with other classes, although some weapons are unique to specific archetypes. This has an impact on cosmetic items in the game, such as seasonal battle pass rewards or in-game shop purchases, as there are exclusive weapon-type skins for each equipment slot. Considering the overlap in some slots and the uniqueness in others, it is more likely that the sixth class, when released, will share the weapons that are currently unique to a specific class.

To enhance Diablo 4's sixth class, it is logical to incorporate at least one distinct weapon type belonging to a different class. This approach would enable players to have pre-existing weapon skins for that specific slot, accessible through the battle pass or shop. Additionally, Blizzard could effectively repurpose existing assets in a manner coherent with the class in question. Considering that only six weapon types remain exclusive to their respective classes, the number of potential contenders becomes limited.

Considering that daggers are exclusive to the Rogue and offhand items are available for multiple classes, it would be logical for the Witch Doctor from Diablo 3 to make a comeback in Diablo 4. The Witch Doctor could utilize ceremonial daggers and mojos that resemble the totems used by Druids. When it comes to polearms, determining their usage is more challenging due to their widespread use by various classes in Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. Barbarians, Amazons, Druids, and Paladins in Diablo 2 used polearms, while Crusaders, Monks, and Barbarians in Diablo 3 were associated with this weapon type. However, the classes that align the most with polearms in Diablo 4 would be the Amazon, Monk, and Paladin, with the Crusader being slightly less likely due to its emphasis on flails.

The return of bows in Diablo 4 would strongly support the inclusion of the Amazon as a playable class. Bows were one of the primary weapons for the Amazon in Diablo 2, alongside crossbows. Crossbows could also be utilized by Demon Hunters as one-handed weapons, making them a viable option. Lastly, the addition of shields could pave the way for the return of either the Crusader or the Paladin, as they are the only missing classes that traditionally wield shields. Therefore, it would be most fitting for the Amazon and the Paladin to be included in Diablo 4, as they both have overlapping weapon types with existing classes in the game, like swords and maces.
