Todd Chrisley is dreading spending his first Thanksgiving in prison. The former Chrisley Knows Best star is reportedly feeling very upset about not being able to spend the holiday with his loved ones. Instead, he will be surrounded by other inmates. This news was confirmed by his representative to TMZ on November 21st.
Todd, 54, and his wife, Julie Chrisley, began serving their prison sentences in January after being found guilty of 12 charges including tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy. Todd is currently incarcerated at Federal Prison Camp, Pensacola in Florida while Julie is at Federal Medical Center, Lexington in Kentucky. Despite being apart this Thanksgiving, their daughter Savannah Chrisley plans to visit both of them during the holiday season, according to TMZ.
Savannah, 26, recently opened up about a win that gave her some renewed hope this holiday season: an appeals court granting a request for oral arguments in her parents’ case.
Savannah Chrisley revealed in an Instagram video on Monday, November 20 that her family will be celebrating Thanksgiving differently this year. She explained that she had originally planned to deviate from the traditional Thanksgiving celebration. However, upon receiving the news that the appeals court has granted their oral arguments, she was overcome with emotion. This small victory brings them one step closer to bringing her parents home. Savannah expressed her excitement about the news and mentioned that her children are also thrilled about the progress. She described the development as "amazing."
Savannah announced that oral arguments are set to begin the week of March 25, 2024. She expressed excitement, stating, "Only about six percent of cases submitted for oral arguments are accepted. So, this is huge news. We get to argue why mom and dad should be home. God is good. Thanksgiving win!"
However, despite the positive development, Savannah emphasized that life in prison is challenging and her efforts to raise awareness about alleged living conditions have had consequences.
"It has been extremely difficult for my parents since I began speaking out," Savannah disclosed to Entertainment Tonight at the beginning of the month. "That has been the most challenging part, especially for my dad. There has been a lot of backlash, so we have to be concerned for him."

Savannah alleged that guards started singling out her father after she described his prison as "a death trap" on Instagram. "They're attempting to transfer him from his current facility because of my recent posts. And that's the difficult part — when you start speaking up, there are consequences," she stated.
In the midst of her parents' legal troubles, Savannah took on the responsibility of caring for her 17-year-old brother, Grayson, and her niece, 11-year-old Chloe, who was adopted by her parents in 2017. The reality TV star has openly shared the challenges and rewards of being a guardian.
"I try my best to be a positive adult role model for them, but it's incredibly tough to be 25 and suddenly responsible for two kids, trying to make the best choices for them. Normally, you have the opportunity to grow into these roles gradually, from one child to two, and so on. But for me, it's like I've been thrown into the deep end," she reflected on her "Unlocked" podcast during a May episode.
