However, Sabito dismissed the concern, confident that Tanjiro couldn't harm him at his current skill level.
Despite his efforts, Tanjiro was unable to land a hit on Sabito, who showcased his dominance as a stronger swordsman. Sabito even revealed his previous accomplishment of slicing a boulder in half. By killing the Hand Demon, Tanjiro liberates the souls of the deceased, allowing them to finally find peace, including Sabito and Makomo. Recognizing Tanjiro's true potential, Sabito designates him as his successor. A significant moment occurs before Tanjiro bids farewell to Sakonji to participate in the final selection. He asks Sakonji to send his regards to Sabito and Makomo, shocking Sakonji as both spirits had passed away long ago.
