Dean McDermott Remains Estranged from His Children Amid Turbulent Split from Tori Spelling
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's separation and custody agreement remain unresolved, causing a chaotic situation that has resulted in Dean not seeing his children

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are still working through their separation and trying to determine their current status. According to an exclusive source, the couple has briefly spoken, but the separation and their children's situation are still in flux and have not been fully resolved. The source also adds that it is very likely that they will get a divorce, as the day-to-day process is not completely amicable.
McDermott, 57, has had phone conversations with his kids, but has not had the opportunity for one-on-one time with them away from Tori. He shares sons Liam, 16, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, and daughters Stella, 15, and Hattie, 11, with Tori. McDermott is also the father of 25-year-old son Jack, whom he shares with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.
In June, McDermott announced he and Spelling separated after 17 years of marriage in a now-deleted Instagram post. Four months later, the actor opened up about the split in an interview with Daily Mail, revealing his struggles with alcohol.
"Drinking alcohol made me feel good at first, but it eventually led to isolation," McDermott revealed in a November interview. "I was consuming a fifth of tequila and prescription medications every night, alone in the other room while my family was nearby. This pattern ultimately led to a final argument with Spelling in June and our separation, and I haven't seen my kids since then."
"My most regrettable memory with Tori is our last fight when I was intoxicated and filled with rage. It was the night when I lashed out at her and the children, and I witnessed the final glimmer of hope fade from her eyes," he confessed. "I shared [the announcement of our separation] because I felt completely lost. I had destroyed everything once again, and I didn't know what to do."

In November, an insider shared that there was a lot of personal information about their family. Tori has been protective of the kids, especially with Dean's rages and outbursts. Previously, McDermott had mentioned that Spelling had urged him to seek help. He confirmed in November that he had finished a 40-day inpatient treatment program and was now residing in a sober group home for men.
With the holiday season approaching, the source reveals that the duo's plans are still undecided. "It all depends on Dean's recovery and dedication to sobriety," the insider explains. "At this point, it's still uncertain."
Since their split, McDermott and Spelling have both found new love interests. McDermott has been in a romantic relationship with Lily Calo since October, and Spelling has been seeing Ryan Cramer since November.
