Dean McDermott, 57, expressed his gratitude for having his girlfriend Lily Calo, 32, and ex-wife Tori Spelling by his side during his journey to sobriety.

According to McDermott, Calo has been a tremendous source of support for him. They make it a point to check in with each other daily and help each other stay on track.

McDermott shared that he was especially grateful for Calo's support during the challenging early days of his sobriety. Despite starting to date Calo in October 2023, just five months after announcing his separation from Spelling after 17 years of marriage.

Spelling and McDermott have experienced various challenges in their relationship. Nonetheless, McDermott acknowledges his appreciation for his estranged wife always having his best interests at heart, even during difficult times.

"Tori has always been my biggest supporter and fan," McDermott expressed. He mentioned that she simply wants him to be happy, above all, and he admires her for being such an amazing woman.

McDermott also shared that Spelling is one of the most generous people he knows, always prioritizing her loved ones before herself. The exes have six children together - Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau. Additionally, McDermott is a father to his son Jack, whom he shares with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.

He admitted, "She always puts others first, sometimes even sacrificing her own happiness. That's just the kind of person she is, always wanting the best for everyone."

McDermott has openly discussed the impact of alcohol on his relationship with Spelling, sharing that it played a role in their breakup.

"I used to wake up feeling angry and lost, despite having five or six beautiful kids in my life," he shared with the Daily Mail in November 2023. "I was in a dark place and couldn't appreciate the blessings around me. She came from a place of pure love, wanting me to be happy and healthy. It was a bit of a codependent relationship. She prioritized my well-being over hers, showing me immense love without expressing how it was affecting her, although I could see it in her eyes."

Now, Spelling and McDermott appear to be on good terms as they move forward. Since their separation, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star has been romantically linked to Ryan Cramer. Recently, Spelling even attended a party with McDermott and Calo, warmly welcoming Calo as she arrived at Dave & Busters in Los Angeles last month.
