Deadpool 3 Director Addresses Speculation about Taylor Swift Starring as Dazzler

Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool 3, addressed the speculation regarding Taylor Swift potentially joining the film as the character Dazzler. During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with reporter Josh Horowitz, Levy was asked if he had heard the name Dazzler mentioned in any conversations with Swift. While Levy refrained from providing a direct comment to avoid spreading possible false information, he did acknowledge that the topic frequently circulates on social media. Furthermore, Levy expressed his support for Swift portraying Dazzler, considering it to be an excellent concept.

Levy commented on the rampant rumors surrounding cameos in Deadpool 3, expressing his appreciation for the abundant speculation about casting choices. He admitted that the sheer volume of rumors has made it difficult to distinguish between fact and fiction.

Although details are scarce, viewers can expect to see Succession star Matthew Macfadyen and The Crown's Emma Corrin making cameos in Deadpool 3. Levy stated that attracting stars to appear in the film has not posed a challenge.

"What also amazed me was how effortlessly some of those guest appearances happened. Fans adore Deadpool and Ryan. Fortunately, they also seem to appreciate my work. They recognize the special bond and successful collaboration that Ryan and I share," he expressed.

Levy, Reynolds, and Swift recently attended the Chiefs-Jets NFL game, which fueled rumors suggesting Swift's involvement in Deadpool 3. However, these speculations hold no grounds. The three of them are merely friends, enjoying sporting events together as friends typically do. Nevertheless, Swift making an appearance in Deadpool 3 would undoubtedly be an enjoyable cameo in any circumstance.

Filming for Deadpool 3 commenced earlier this year but was halted due to Hollywood strikes. While the WGA strike concluded in September, the SAG-AFTRA union strike persists, causing a delay in the production of Deadpool 3. Although the movie is scheduled for a May 2024 release, it is uncertain if this date will be affected by the production setbacks.

Notably, alongside Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman makes an unexpected appearance as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. Despite the character's demise in the film Logan, in the realm of Hollywood, all possibilities are on the table.
