Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool, has revealed why he failed to deliver on his promise of sharing set photos of Deadpool 3. The upcoming movie will see Deadpool, the iconic mutant, become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Marvel Studios gained the rights to the X-Men franchise. Despite the franchise's transition, Deadpool is the only mutant character who will continue to have a franchise in the MCU. Although principal photography for Deadpool 3 is underway, there was initially some confusion surrounding Liefeld's tweet on May 22, which promised set photos but never delivered. However, Liefeld has now explained in an interview with CinemaBlend what caused the delay.
I had wrongly assumed that Fox and Disney were the same company, but I quickly realized my mistake. It's a whole new ballgame with Disney now in charge, and I can't expect things to be done the same way as they were before.
Although fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will have to wait a while before the release of Deadpool 3, some exciting news about the sequel has already been confirmed. One of the most notable revelations is the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, marking his first appearance in a Marvel film since his portrayal in Logan. Interestingly, the events of Logan will not be erased, and time travel is set to play a significant role in the film's plot.
Returning cast members from the first two Deadpool films are set to make an appearance in the trilogy finale alongside Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, and Stefan Kapičić are all confirmed to reprise their roles. Additionally, Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen have been announced as mystery characters, with Corrin rumored to play a villain. With Deadpool now part of the MCU and the highly anticipated return of Wolverine, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Deadpool 3. Hopefully, more information about the film will be revealed at San Diego Comic-Con next month, including footage from production.
