Darius Jackson is sending a message to son Leodis after Keke Palmer filed a restraining order against him.
Jackson, 29, expressed his affection for his son as he shared a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, November 9. Accompanied by a photo of himself cradling his 8-month-old child, he wrote, "I love you, son. See you soon."
Shortly after, Palmer, 30, took legal action by filing for a restraining order against Jackson. According to documents acquired by We, she accused him of subjecting her to repeated abuse during their two-year relationship.
"Darius unlawfully entered my residence without my knowledge or consent, proceeded to intimidate me, and subsequently launched a physical assault on me. He aggressively targeted my neck, delivered forceful blows, forcibly threw me over the couch, and proceeded to steal my phone when I mentioned contacting the authorities," she asserts in the legal documents.
Palmer also asserts that their relationship has been marred by numerous incidents of physical violence, including instances where he struck her and forcibly gripped her neck. He has also been accused of destroying personal belongings, such as diaries and prescription medication, by hurling them onto the street. Moreover, he has prevented her from leaving by seizing her car keys, threatened her in front of their child, engaged in verbal abuse, made menacing remarks about self-harm with a gun if she were to leave, and subjected her to incessant harassment as well as physical and emotional abuse.
Palmer alleged that on November 5, Jackson entered her house without her knowledge or consent, threatened her, and physically assaulted her by lunging for her neck, striking her, throwing her over the couch, and stealing her phone. She also claimed that in a separate incident in February 2022, Jackson body slammed her by the neck onto the stairs.
Based on the provided documents, Palmer and Jackson officially ended their relationship in October and no longer live together. Palmer is seeking a non-contact order and stay away order, as well as requesting that Jackson be specifically restricted from publicly commenting about her, her family, and their son online. Furthermore, she is filing for sole custody of their son Leo.
Palmer's submission comes several months after Jackson caused controversy with his comments about the outfit she wore to Usher's Las Vegas concert in July. Jackson criticized Palmer's black bodysuit, which included a transparent polka-dot coverup, by stating, "It's the outfit tho...you a mom."
Despite facing backlash for his remark, Jackson stood by his words in a subsequent tweet, stating, "We now live in a generation where a husband and father does not want his wife and mother of his children to display their buttocks in order to please others. Yet, he is labeled a hater for holding such beliefs. This represents my family and my principles. I have established standards and values that I stand by. I conclude my argument."
Palmer, on the other hand, has not directly spoken about the incident. However, she did make an appearance in Usher's music video for his single "Boyfriend," where she subtly acknowledged Jackson's tweets with a playful wink towards the camera. Additionally, she launched a new merchandise line that seemingly alludes to the comments.
In August, she tweeted, "There is one undeniable truth about me - I am a mother, through and through! "IM A MOTHA" and "Stevie to the bulls--t" shirts are now available!"
One month later, an exclusive source informed Us that Palmer and Jackson, who started their relationship in August 2021, had a tumultuous connection after the public conflict. The insider expressed that it is their personal matter, and their loved ones wish for them to resolve their issues for their own well-being and the sake of their child. They emphasized that Palmer and Jackson need to find a resolution independently, as they share a deep affection for one another and prefer to keep their personal lives private.
