Eminem, known as one of the greatest hip-hop artists in history, is also a proud father to three children. In a recent interview on the “Hotboxin With Mike Tyson” podcast in October 2020, the “Lose Yourself” rapper opened up about his experience as a parent, stating that it's the accomplishment he is most proud of.

Eminem, a Grammy award-winning artist, welcomed his daughter Hailie Jade with his ex-wife Kim Scott in December 1995. The couple got married in 1999 but their tumultuous relationship led to a split in 2001. However, they reconciled and exchanged vows for a second time in 2006, only to split again later that same year. In a 2007 interview on 20/20, Scott revealed that she was excited and happy when Eminem proposed to her for the second time, but also felt that he was rushing things.

The pattern in the relationship between the Michigan native and his ex-partner was identified by him as a two-year cycle, where things would go smoothly for two years before taking a turn for the worse. However, the couple had not yet hit the two-year mark, and the individual was hesitant to rush into anything before reaching that milestone. Despite the relationship not working out, the individual expressed pride in his daughter Hailie during a 2020 interview with Mike Tyson. Additionally, he has also adopted Stevie and Alaina, who were born to his ex-wife's sister and her former boyfriend, respectively.

In a 2004 Rolling Stone interview, the 8 Mile actor shared that he has full custody of his niece Alaina, whom he affectionately calls "Lainey" in his music. She has been a significant part of his life since birth and has lived with him and her mother, Kim, for extended periods. Recently, Alaina tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Matt Moeller, with her sister Hailie serving as a bridesmaid. Alaina shared a series of Instagram photos from the special day, calling it one of the best days of her life in this lifetime and beyond.

After battling drug addiction, Dawn, a resident of Detroit, passed away at the age of 41 in 2016. Her sister, Kim, wrote a touching tribute to her on the Lee Ellena Funeral Home's website.

Kim described Dawn as her sweet and beautiful sister who had lost her way. Despite this, Kim always kept a light lit for her, hoping that Dawn would find her way back to her. Kim expressed her deep love and longing for her sister, wishing that she could have hugged her and told her how much she loved her.

The dynamic between Eminem and his mother has been fraught with complications throughout the years. He once accused her of using more drugs than he does in his song "My Name Is" released in 1999. As a result, his mother, Deborah Nelson, sued him for defamation and was awarded $25,000 in a settlement in 2001, despite originally seeking $11 million in damages.

Nelson shared her perspective in her memoir, My Son, Marshall, My Son, Eminem, published in 2008. She admitted to giving in to her eldest son's every desire, which she considers her biggest mistake as a mother. She also revealed her dissatisfaction with his choices and the image he portrayed to the public. As a mother, she wanted to make up for his absent father and was saddened by the path he took in life.

In 2013, Eminem expressed regret for his past lyrics regarding his mother in the song "Headlights." The rapper acknowledged that he had not considered the impact of his words and recognized the hurt he caused his mother.
