Highlights

Insomniac Games tantalizes fans with suggestions of Daredevil's potential cameo in the upcoming update or DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, further enriching the already astounding array of Easter Eggs embedded within its Spider-Man games.

The discovery of the Daredevil Easter Egg in the previous Spider-Man games implies that Insomniac could potentially introduce additional characters in Spider-Man 2 through DLC. Although there are no official plans for DLC in Spider-Man 2, there is strong speculation about potential storylines, such as one involving a cult. The future direction of the franchise by Insomniac remains uncertain, but it is probable that Daredevil will play a significant part.

Insomniac Games has acknowledged an intriguing Easter Egg in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, hinting at the possible introduction of Daredevil in a future update or DLC. Insomniac's Spider-Man games are renowned for their immersive open-world experiences, teeming with captivating details and hidden surprises. Daredevil serves as just one example of such hidden gems. Surprisingly, considering the vast number of Spider-Man's allies and adversaries yet to be featured, Daredevil may not have been a character fans were expecting. However, Insomniac may have chosen Daredevil as their next addition.

Both the original Insomniac Spider-Man game and its Miles Morales sequel feature a notable Daredevil Easter Egg. In Hell's Kitchen, there is a building adorned with a plaque at its entrance that reads "Nelson and Murdock," a direct reference to Daredevil's modest law firm. Additionally, there is a conspicuous pink flyer on the adjacent door, marked with the word "NOTICE" that fans speculated to be an eviction notice. In Spider-Man 2, although the supposed eviction notice remains, the names "Nelson and Murdock" have been removed from the sign.

IGN recently interviewed Bryan Intihar, the creative director at Insomniac, about a Spider-Man 2 Easter Egg featured in a recent Beyond podcast. Intihar was asked about the Nelson and Murdock sign and whether it was intentional or accidental. His response was intriguing, as he replied, "That's a good question. Stay tuned. Good find though." Essentially, Intihar is hinting that fans may find an answer to their question in the future.

The original Insomniac Spider-Man game included three DLC chapters that introduced various important characters such as Black Cat, Hammerhead, Wraith, and Silver Sable. It is therefore reasonable to assume that Spider-Man 2 may also feature DLC content that introduces or further develops other Marvel characters. However, there is no guarantee of this, considering the Miles Morales game did not receive any story DLC.

At the present moment, there have been no official plans confirmed for DLC in Spider-Man 2. However, there is a lot of speculation surrounding the potential for DLC content. One possible storyline that could be explored involves a cult that worships a character known as The Flame, and this could easily lead to DLC for Spider-Man 2. Unfortunately, until there is further confirmation from Insomniac, all of this remains speculative.

Insomniac has a wide range of possibilities for the future of the Spider-Man franchise. Spider-Man 2 has become the fastest-selling game in PlayStation history, opening up countless opportunities. Whether it be through Spider-Man 2 DLC, a new mid-quel like Miles Morales, or diving straight into the development of Spider-Man 3, each option has the potential for success. It is highly likely that Daredevil will play a role in these plans, in one way or another.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available now on PS5.
