Coldplay's Chris Martin Surprises Fan with a Ride to Their Own Music Festival

Saundra Glenn was already a fan of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even before he kindly offered her a ride.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Glenn, who is 64 years old, shared her experience of heading to Radio 1’s Big Weekend music festival. However, her osteoarthritis and a troublesome right hip forced her to stop during her walk to the accessibility box office.

While taking a break by the fence, Glenn shared that a black Mercedes stopped next to her, and a woman in the car kindly offered her a ride.

Glenn recalled, "When the door opened, I hesitated, thinking, 'Oh, that's Chris Martin, I can't ride with him.' But they insisted, 'Yes, you can'." She recounted this experience to the BBC.

She said she had been considering returning home to watch the concert on television.

Glenn, a resident of Luton in the UK, expressed her disappointment, "But I thought I loved Coldplay and never thought I’d never get another chance to see them in my home town."

Glenn reminisced about making Martin laugh when she told him, “I’m 64 Chris, I don’t do festivals, I’ve come just to see you and now I’ve seen you and I can go home.”

But Martin's kindness extended beyond just giving a ride to the show, Glenn mentioned.

"He didn't just drop me off at the artist area; he made sure I had a golf buggy to ensure I reached my destination," she recalled. "It's his awareness and consideration for people with disabilities that truly makes him a compassionate individual."

Glenn, of course, stayed for the show, describing it as the “coolest festival” she’d ever attended.
