Cody Walker and his wife Felicia recently welcomed their newborn son Paul Barrett ("Bear") Walker, in honor of Cody's late brother, the beloved "Fast & Furious" actor Paul Walker, who died in a car accident almost a decade ago.
"I have decided that now, as we approach the 10th anniversary of my brother Paul's passing, is the right time to make this announcement," Cody Walker shared with the publication. Paul, who was the fourth generation to carry the name Paul William Walker, was affectionately known as "little Paul" or "Paul 4" within our family, despite surpassing our father in height. It holds great significance for me to ensure that his name lives on."
CNN has contacted Cody Walker's representatives to verify the information. Following Paul Walker's death in November 2013, production for "Furious 7" was temporarily halted. Eventually, filming resumed with Cody Walker and his brother Caleb serving as stand-ins for their late sibling.
Walker was tragically killed in a car accident while in the passenger seat of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by a racing team partner. The vehicle collided with a light pole and caught fire in an office park located in Valencia, Santa Clarita, which is approximately 30 miles north of Hollywood. Despite his untimely death, Walker's legacy lives on as his daughter Meadow Walker Thornton-Allan made a cameo appearance in the latest installment of the film franchise that brought her father worldwide fame, "Fast X."
On her verified Instagram page earlier this month, Thornton-Allan shared a sneak peek of her role in the movie and expressed her gratitude for being a part of it. She reminisced about growing up on set, watching her father and the rest of the "Fast" core cast on the monitors, and being born into the Fast family. Now, she can't believe that she gets to join them on screen.
