Ciara speaks openly about her realization that her relationship with ex-fiancé Future was not meant to last. During an episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast on Wednesday, October 4, the 37-year-old singer shared her perspective. She emphasized that when you are faced with a significant decision in your life, you feel it deep down in your core, from your thoughts to your physical being. It's like your taste preferences shifting. Ciara also emphasized the importance of self-reflection, looking in the mirror and assessing what changes you can make in your life or what you are truly looking for.
Ciara and Future, aged 39, ended their relationship in less than a year after becoming engaged. Despite the breakup, they successfully co-parented their son, Future, who is currently 9 years old.
"When you have a child, it becomes crucial for me to prioritize their well-being. There's no room for playing around or experimenting anymore," she expressed. "I am now responsible for another life, so I have to carefully consider my actions and decisions. We all experience tiredness, and it's important to acknowledge that and not let it consume us constantly. I strive for joy and ensuring that my own happiness is fulfilled."
"Protect your time from being wasted by others," she advised. "Whether it's a romantic relationship, a friendship, or a business partnership, it's crucial that you don't allow it to consume your precious time," the renowned singer of "Goodies" emphasized. "Ultimately, it's not worth it. These are the thoughts that come to my mind whenever there's a significant turning point in my life, no matter what area it pertains to."

Following her split with Future, Ciara found love with her current spouse Russell Wilson. The couple tied the knot in 2016 and are proud parents to Sienna, aged 6, and Win, aged 3. Ciara is currently anticipating the arrival of their third child.
"Russ and I always discuss the importance of being equally matched," she joked with host Alex Cooper. "Right from the beginning, we found a harmonious connection, and I am grateful to God for that. We share a lot of similar perspectives, and I believe that's a major advantage when it comes to finding alignment in a relationship."
In praising her strong connection with Wilson, Ciara drew a comparison to previous "unhealthy" relationships.
"It's all about how someone communicates with you, their past experiences, and sometimes, you know, it's important to listen. Your own perspective can sometimes cause you to overlook things," explained the Grammy winner to Cooper. "Someone can say all the right things, like 'I've changed,' but I've heard those promises before, and I've heard that same old story. ... Sometimes you prioritize words over actions."
She went on to say, "Both parties need to make an effort. If you're not showing up, then I'm not showing up either. ... I won't let you waste my life."
