Despite no longer being romantically involved, Chrissy Metz and her ex-boyfriend Bradley Collins remain good friends and continue to be a part of each other's lives. Metz expressed her love for Collins exclusively to We on Wednesday, October 11, while discussing her Grammy-eligible children's album, Prayed for This Day, released in February.
She expressed, "In my opinion, once you develop love for someone, that feeling remains constant; it never fades away. ... He is an exceptionally kind and genuine individual."
Their separation was officially announced through a joint statement posted on Instagram on Friday, October 6. The statement initiated with the words, "After being in a loving relationship for three and a half years, we have mutually decided to bring an amicable end to our romantic association. Despite our deep love for one another, we believe that this is the most favorable decision for both of us."

Metz emphasized the significance of honesty in her relationship with Collins, 43, during their breakup. The couple openly discussed their online meeting, which generated interest from others. Maintaining a personal commitment to honesty, transparency, and vulnerability, Metz expressed her desire to continue embodying these values. She acknowledged the importance of sharing not only the initial details of their relationship but also how it has evolved over time.
Metz collaborated with Collins to write Prayed for This Day, and also worked with Phil Barton and Liz Rose on some songs for the record. Collins also served as the producer for the album. Additionally, Metz and Collins are currently working on their second book together, even after their romantic relationship ended. They maintain regular communication and frequently see each other. Metz's dog, Mabel, adores Collins as well. Their connection is strong, and they have always known that they would remain a part of each other's lives in some capacity.

Metz is fully receptive to the idea of discovering love once more with a new person.
"I adore love," she expressed. "I regularly watch weddings of strangers online, and I've been doing it my whole life. Regardless of being in a relationship or not, I simply have an immense fondness for it. I truly believe it's the purpose behind our existence."
Metz informed us that the theme of one of her beloved songs on Prayed for This Day, titled "No Matter What," revolves around love, particularly unconditional love. According to her, no matter the choices we make, even as adults, our ultimate desire is to be loved. Metz expressed that it touches her emotionally whenever she listens to this particular song because it reminds her that all we truly yearn for, without any conditions, is to be loved.
Metz will play her music at several upcoming concerts through November and December. Tour dates are available on her website.
