Chicago O’Hare International experienced a temporary halt in arrivals as a United Airlines flight aborted takeoff following a reported engine fire on Monday afternoon. The FAA issued a statement regarding the incident.
No one was hurt on Monday when a United Airlines flight had to stop its takeoff at Chicago O’Hare International Airport because of a reported engine fire, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The flight, United 2091, was supposed to go to Seattle with 148 passengers and five crew members. However, the takeoff at around 2 p.m. CT was canceled.

The FAA mentioned that there was a report of an engine catching fire, but the airline simply referred to it as "an issue with the engine." The Airbus A320, equipped with two engines, was safely towed to the gate. Passengers were able to disembark from the aircraft in a usual manner.
United officials stated that the fire department and medical personnel met the aircraft as a precautionary measure, with no reported injuries.
Following the incident, the FAA temporarily stopped flight arrivals into the airport for 45 minutes.
